Install (early access)
Download the extension
Grab the latest build from the link we've shared, and unzip it somewhere you'll keep it — Chrome loads it from that folder directly.
Open chrome://extensions
Type chrome://extensions into your address bar, or find it under Chrome's menu → Extensions → Manage Extensions.
Turn on Developer mode
There's a toggle in the top right of that page.
Click "Load unpacked"
Select the unzipped folder. The SiteSense AI icon appears in your toolbar right away.
Once we're live on the Chrome Web Store, this becomes a one-click install — no unzipping required.
Frequently asked
Is this the same analysis as the full website?
Yes — the popup calls the same backend and the same real Lighthouse data as sitesenseai.com. It just shows a compact summary instead of the full findings list.
Do I need an account?
No. The extension works without signing in, with 3 free scans per day. Sign up on the full site for 5 scans a month with saved history and monitoring.
What data does it send anywhere?
Only the URL of the page you actively click 'Scan' on — sent to SiteSense AI's backend to run the analysis, the same way the website's own demo works. Nothing is collected in the background.
Will it work on any page?
Any public website. It can't scan internal browser pages (chrome:// URLs) or other extensions' pages — there's nothing there for it to analyze.
