E-E-A-T is visible in the work
E-E-A-T is not a badge, a plugin, or a set of metadata fields. Readers assess it through the quality of the information, the expertise behind it, the evidence provided, and the accountability of the site publishing it.
Experience and expertise
Experience means showing relevant first-hand knowledge: using a product, running a process, performing a test, or working in the field. Expertise means explaining the knowledge, method, assumptions, and limitations that make your interpretation credible.
A strong SaaS tutorial may include actual product screenshots, a reproducible workflow, input and output examples, known limitations, and the product version or date reviewed. These signals are more meaningful than simply calling the author an expert.
Authoritativeness and trust
Authoritativeness grows when an organization consistently publishes useful work within a clear subject area and earns credible recognition. Trust comes from accuracy, transparent sourcing, clear ownership, security, accessible site design, and responsible treatment of corrections.
For high-stakes pages, make it easy to find who created or reviewed the content, why they are qualified, and when it was last materially updated. Link to primary evidence and explain any uncertainty rather than presenting a guess as fact.
Using AI responsibly
AI tools can assist with brainstorming, research, translation, coding, and editing. They do not remove the publisher’s responsibility for accuracy. Review factual claims, remove fabricated citations, disclose material automation where helpful, and ensure the page reflects a real editorial purpose.
Content produced at scale without a clear audience benefit can undermine quality. Focus on whether a reader will learn enough to achieve their goal and have a satisfying experience—not only whether a page targets a query.
Trust audit
Are authors, editors, owners, and relevant credentials discoverable?
Does the content explain its source material and method?
Are policies, contact details, and commercial relationships clear?
Are pages secure, accessible, accurate, and updated when facts change?
